22,000 Miles - Thoroughly recommended.

Written in a straightforward yet endearing manner, 22,000 Miles is as much about the developing relationship of father and son, as it is about their cycling adventures together. It's a heartwarming and inspirational read with beautiful images to accompany the tales of epic adventure. Having read through it myself, I'm now reading it to my two sons, seven and five, who both love it and want to jump on their bikes after each chapter. An especially good read if you're a cyclist with a young family, I'd also recommend this book even if you're not into riding as Rich's writing, whilst knowledgeable, is not intimidating to novices in any way. A testament to the writing, 22,000 Miles is no less enjoyable the second time around!

A Great Read

An easy read with lots of great pictures, it is inspirational in the sense that you may not feel the need to complete the Tour Divide, but it will make you want to get out on your bike and have your own adventure.

Makes me want to be bolder and braver

This book makes me want to be bolder and braver, and to share my own adventures with the people who I feel close to. While reading it I had moments when tears came to my eyes because of Tom's bravery, and moments when I smiled from ear to ear because of the way that Rich tells their stories. The courage and determination of this father and son is really admirable! Although I don't ride a bike or have any children, I feel a really strong connection wth their adventure stories. Ultimately I think it's about the way that Rich shares their experiences together and the special bond that comes through that. Five bright stars from me!

22000 Miles

Though I don't "know" Rich and Tom I followed their journey along the Tour Divide route in the US. It was an amazing journey and as soon as I heard Rich was writing a book I ordered one. It did not disappoint. If you pick up this book you will be amazed at their relationship, their sense of adventure. AND you may want to take a bike ride!
